Get the answer wrong and the card still fires, just weaker. You're never punished for trying. The game tracks what you know with FSRS, the same spaced repetition algorithm behind Anki. Facts you struggle with come back more often. Facts you've nailed fade to the back of the queue. You're winning because you're learning. That's the whole trick. Chain cards from the same topic back-to-back. Two history facts in a row? 1.5x multiplier. Five in a row? 3.5x. HOW COMBAT WORKS Five cards per turn. Each one is a mechanic (Strike, Block, Hex, Overclock, Transmute) with a chain color linking it to a topic in your deck. 3 action points. Quick Play fires the card instantly. Base damage, no questions asked. Charge Play costs an extra action point and pulls up a quiz. Get it right and the card hits harder. Get it wrong and the card still resolves at reduced power.
