Darkstone Restoration brings the classic action RPG back to modern PCs with improved stability, compatibility, readability, controls, and quality-of-life improvements — while preserving the spirit of the original game. Personally led by Paul Cuisset, creator of the original Darkstone, this restoration is designed to make the game feel right to play again today without losing what made it special. The restored core experience is already well underway. Early Access will mark the first public step of the project, allowing the game to continue evolving through polish, refinement, and community feedback on the path toward full release. Beyond the restored core, the project may also extend the restoration into other important parts of Darkstone’s legacy, including modernized network functionality and a new Quest Editor built around the foundations and spirit of the original tool, depending on technical progress and community feedback.
